This one cool dude that I’ve never met

By Joy Lynn Clark January 5, 2022 Technically, this isn’t love but it is in the pursuit of. I met this one dude online five or six years ago. He was an armed services veteran with a prescription for cannabis. We talked on the phone and had a deep conversation about our disabilities, he had brain damage. When it came time to meet, he lives kind of far. I was hoping we could meet halfway but, duh no car.

    Giving In

By Joy Lynn Clark January 5, 2022 After meeting my new friends that helped me open up my locker, I also met a boy. He helped me with my locker from time to time and we grew close fast. To make matters worse, I couldn’t seem to remember my locker combination and I started being late for class all the time. Although many of my old friends from middle school were here now, I got a bunch of new ones. I went to heart but, all of the girls by my locker went to Parker. They were nice and started helping me open my locker.…

    The summer before high school

By Joy Lynn Clark December 29, 2021 I graduated from middle school feeling like a rockstar. Dad and my stepmom sat us down and said, “dad’s getting a promotion. We will be in the next tax bracket so we will have to build a new house.” I was like wow, “dad is chief”. Our home was sold quickly and we had to move to a rental. The builder told us that it should only take a couple of months. We looked at several places including a hotel which is what I wanted. They had an indoor pool and I can totally eat sandwiches and drink sodas all day. My stepmother…
