D.A.R.E.

D.A.R.E. stands for drug abuse resistance education. This is another social program that I was involved with in my youth. My favorite neighborhood police officer, Officer friendly stopped by our elementary school class to teach us about different types of drugs and their negative affects. Sometimes he would relate a story or two about his Encounters with drug offenders. I was fascinated and I really liked Officer friendly. In addition to dare, Officer friendly was always the cop that was posted in my neighborhood on my walks home from school. It is not like it is today. I would smile and wave as I passed him on my school walk. I worry about my son because he doesn’t have an Officer friendly.
