Off To The Clinic by Dazee Dizzle

4/28/2016

Some months back, I had unprotected sex on a first date.  Risky and dangerous.  I want to tell all of the b.s. that I fell for and justified but at the end of the day I had unprotected sex on a first date.  For a minute he had me thinking it was going to go differently but, he ended up standing me up.

Damn.  I made an appointment with my MD to get tested. I talked it over with my psychologist.  I was told not to beat myself up about it.  I came up clean just after the incident.

I wrote and recorded, “Off to The Clinic”.

Now the window is up and I have to go for another HIV test.

That’s when it really dawned on me, that careless decision could have life changing consequences.  I was scared.

I ended up going to TPAN (www.tpan.com) which stands for Test Positive Action Network for a one-minute test.  It was a quick prick of the finger followed by some squeezing so the blood can go into a tiny tube.  It was painless.  In addition, the specialist was very informative and we discussed the ways that HIV is transmitted along with what some of the high risk factors are to look for.

Off to The Clinic

Yesterday I saw you in the morning

Now I’m reminiscing and I’m yawning

Then you never called me back

Came and went

It was just like that

The things that we talked about

Were so heavy

Glad you weren’t thinking that

I’m too crazy

Then you never called me back

Came and went

It was just like that

Delete my number from your phone

Could’ve been an accident

And maybe I’m wrong

Send some texts and no reply

Off to the clinic and you know why

In my mind I tell myself

I told you so

Quit acting so hot and go

To the store

And it goes on all night long

What if you had to guess

And you guess wrong

Making plans to do this thing

Another day

Now we’re having snow

And I don’t get my way

And it goes on all day long

What if you had to guess

And you guess wrong

Delete my number from your phone

Could’ve been an accident

And maybe I’m wrong

Send some texts and no reply

Off to the clinic and you know why

Should’ve brought

Something

Never thought

That it would get

So hot

Delete my number from your phone

Could’ve been an accident

And maybe I’m wrong

Send some texts and no reply

Off to the clinic and you know why

Probably don’t believe me

For how long it’s been

Thinking that I’m getting

Raw with lots of men

Guess it don’t even matter now

Could’ve been a virgin

And he’s not around

Really wish this lasted for a longer time

Wishing he would call and just

Ease my mind

Guess it don’t even matter now

Could’ve been a virgin

And he’s not around

Delete my number from your phone

Could’ve been an accident

And maybe I’m wrong

Send some texts and no reply

Off to the clinic and you know why
