Baby Sister

When I was in kindergarten mom started having problems with my stepdad. At the time she was pregnant with my sister she decided to drive all the way to California. It was a pretty fun trip but our VW seemed to break down in every state along the way. We’d visit the mechanic and then somehow make it to our motel room and spend the night.

Eventually we got to San Francisco. I thought that all of the steep hills were amazing. It was cool going up and down.

Once we got to my aunts apartment that was on a hill, I could look out onto a great view. My uncle presented me with his famous peanut butter cookies and the grownups had a powwow.

I didn’t get to stay very long but the grown-ups took me for a walk through the neighborhood where I got to try and avoid all of the snails in the morning.

“You guys have to go home. You get to ride in an airplane Joy, mom and I will drive back” my stepdad explained. That was my second time visiting California.

I took an plane ride all by myself and the stewardesses were so nice that they gave me extra cookies and sodas.

Soon after we got home, first me, next my mom, step dad and, finally my baby sister was born!
